Typical week

Take advantage of your time abroad

When classes are over for the day, be sure to check the Activities Office bulletin board or in the iLab to see what's happening. Here’s a sample of some of the activities you might find:

A full calendar of free time activities

Having fun is an essential part of learning. It’s when you’re relaxed that you’re most able to begin using what you’ve learned in class in a natural way. That’s why every EF school has a full-time Activities Director whose job it is to fill your free time with social, cultural and sporting activities. From football tournaments to tennis matches to city sightseeing tours, EF plans something fun for every day of the week.

Cultural activities:

We’ve carefully chosen school locations that are ideal for exploring the cultural treasures of your new city. EF in historic Boston is only 15 minutes away from key sites of the American Revolution as well as Harvard University. EF London is a short walk from Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the ‘London Eye’ ferris wheel. EF Sydney is virtually around the corner from the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

EF sports, events and outings

Every school is located in a city offering numerous opportunities for playing or watching your favorite sport-whether it’s soccer, basketball, tennis, cycling, golf, volleyball or swimming. Schools like Seattle, Munich, Vancouver and Boston offer excellent skiing in winter. There’s plenty of water sports at schools such as Bournemouth, Miami Beach, Malta and Perth.

Optional EF Excursions

Every week, EF staff will help you see the best of your host country by organizing visits to nearby places of interest. From London, you can visit Windsor Castle; from Los Angeles, the amusements of Disneyland; from Nice, the bright lights of Monte Carlo. We offer these excursions at a reduced price so that you can truly enjoy your host culture.

Weekends away with EF

When your course is over, reward yourself with an optional EF Discovery Tour. If you’re studying in San Francisco, we’ll take you to see the Grand Canyon. If you’re in Sydney, journey to the Great Barrier Reef. And if you’re in London, why not create your own “Tale of Two Cities” in Paris.
