Study in Honolulu

Study in Honolulu with EF and go beyond tourism to experience life in America’s tropical paradise from a local’s point of view.

While tourists only get to taste the laidback Hawaiian lifestyle, spending a year in Honolulu means you’ll truly get to live it. Nestled along the shores of the Pacific Ocean, every city neighborhood is within walking distance of the beach. Hawaii is defined by its picture-perfect weather and idyllic landscapes, but those that go beyond sightseeing discover an island where Eastern and Western influences blend with a rich Polynesian culture.

Study in Honolulu at EF’s modern school, literally steps from the white sands of Waikiki Beach. EF Honolulu is so close to the shore that many of our classrooms have views of the Pacific Ocean. Spend a year in Honolulu and our special interest classes in Hawaiian Society and Culture will help you transition to the island lifestyle.

Urban Living on an Idyllic Island

Upon first arriving to study in Honolulu you’ll immediately be struck by its dramatic landscape. The clear blue Pacific Ocean curves along the edge of downtown. Palm trees sway in the light ocean breeze. And craggy mountains lush with rainforests frame the background.

Enroll with EF and you’ll engage with the welcoming local community, joining Hawaiians for early morning surf sessions and luau barbeques are some of our student’s most memorable experiences. As a resident, you’ll have the opportunity to discover the island’s lush green rainforests and lava-spewing volcanoes. In the winter, watch fearless surfers ride the mountain-like swells of Oahu’s North Shore during international surfing competitions. Honolulu is an American city, but Hawaiian culture is extremely important to the local identity. English studies will be your main focus, but the first word you need to learn is ‘Aloha’, Hawaiian for welcome.
